Background
Addiction is one of the most prevalent diseases of our day. The American Addiction Centers reported that 46.8 million Americans aged 12 and up have battled a substance use disorder in the past year, with 10.5% of Americans having battled alcohol use (2024).
With this in mind, we decided to focus on people that are on their recovery journey. We believe that facilitating the process to find a sponsor would not only motivate but also inspire people to continue on their journey to sobriety.
During the design process we discovered many challenges our potential user base faces when it comes to finding a sponsor, and learned about some of their preferences.
The Problem
Not everyone has access to potential sponsors who can help them with their journey to sobriety.
Project Goals
Design an app that mirrors dating apps like Tinder but with the purpose of finding a sponsor that a user can relate to.

User Persona

User Insight Statement
Rex has been an athlete his whole life. He often reflects on how much sports have benefited his life and wishes to help more children gain access to sports. He has learned discipline, how to work as a team, and how to take criticism. These are a few of the reasons why he think it is important to help children play sports.
Problem Statement
Rex wants to help children get involved with sports who may not have easy access. He doesn’t know the best way to go about finding organizations in his community that would allow him to take direct action such as volunteering or making a donation.

How Might We
...Design a tool that allows user to connect with parents, coaches, leagues administrators, etc., so that they can donate and volunteer directly to the children who need it in their community?
Prioritization Matrix

Value Proposition
Many kids are being left behind. Many want to play sports but don’t have the resources to access leagues, quality gear, private lessons, rides to practice and more. These kids are missing opportunities to develop skills they can use in every day life.
We believe that the best way to help these kids is through direct action. Talking to parents, teams, leagues and children to ask them exactly what they need to help gain access to the sports of their choosing.
At Get Moving, we are committed to connecting those who desire to improve their community with those who need it most by giving them a central location where they can volunteer or donate as needed.
